Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is seeking a Field IT Support Technician to provide onsite, hands-on IT support at distribution centers in North Texas, including Dallas and Arlington.

The role combines technical know-how with a strong customer-service mindset and requires travel around the North Texas area. The ideal candidate has 1–3+ years in field IT or desktop support, and practical experience with desktops, RF devices, wearables, and basic server/network knowledge.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor's degree in IT or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 1-3+ years of field IT support, desktop support, or technical support roles
• Experience supporting hardware and software in warehouse, manufacturing, or operational environments preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite, hands-on IT support within McLane Distribution Centers
• Support restaurant and retail service operations with timely, high-quality IT assistance
• Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain desktops, laptops, RF and wearable devices
• Support servers, network infrastructure, telecommunications, and related hardware
• Partner closely with operations teams to minimize downtime and resolve issues quickly
• Deliver excellent customer service while supporting fast-paced, mission-critical environments
• Document issues, solutions, and equipment changes accurately

This position is on site. Travel will be required around North Texas and will include Dallas and Arlington.

What You'll Do

• Provide onsite, handson technical support within McLane Distribution Centers
• Support both restaurant and retail service operations with timely, highquality IT assistance
• Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain desktops, laptops, RF and wearable devices
• Support servers, network infrastructure, telecommunications, and related hardware

What We're Looking For

• Associate or bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent handson experience
• 1-3+ years of experience in field IT support, desktop support, or technical support roles
• Experience supporting hardware and software in warehouse, manufacturing, or operational environments preferred

• Strong customer service and communication skills are essential
• Experience supporting desktops, laptops, RF devices, wearable technology, and peripherals
• Basic knowledge of servers, networking, and telecommunications equipment
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues effectively in the field
• Comfortable working onsite in distribution center environments
• Organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities
• This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.
