Qualifications

  • Must possess a valid State of Florida Driver’s License.
  • Must reside within Brevard or Volusia County by the time of hire.
  • Must pass a law enforcement level II background screening.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a daily basis.
  • Must be able to stand and kneel for extended periods of time.

Responsibilities

  • Assist law enforcement officers with complex investigation of violations of Florida Statutes.
  • Make frequent observation/inspections of mobile and fixed business locations selling tobacco products and alcoholic beverages.
  • Assess compliance with state’s tobacco and alcoholic beverage laws.
  • Report findings to supervisor and assist licensing bureau with inspections.
  • Investigate administrative violations and prepare investigative reports.
  • Refer criminal violations to sworn personnel for investigation or follow-up.
