Job summary

Applied Industrial Technologies in Detroit, MI is seeking a field service technician to perform maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, and repair of instrumentation and control systems at customer sites. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and timely service.

You will calibrate pressure, temperature, flow and other instrumentation, commission loops, install measuring devices, and complete detailed service reports. Overnight travel and occasional on-call work are required.

Qualifications

Must have experience installing, maintaining, and repairing Process/Control equipment including instrumentation, valves, actuators, pumps
Must be able to operate electronic and microcomputer instruments used to measure and control variables
Strong mechanical proficiency with hand and power tools
Electrical/electrician experience is preferred

Responsibilities

Perform field maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, and repair of instrumentation and control systems in customer sites
Calibrate pressure, temperature, flow and various other instrumentation
Commission instrumentation and shoot loops
Install and Calibrate measuring and positioning devices
Perform minor electrical maintenance
Complete all applicable documentation for actions taken
Report job activity and maintain logs about service calls, parts, and orders
Occasionally travel overnight to customer sites for service and training
