Job summary

DWYER INSTRUMENTS, LLC is seeking a Field Service Engineer to perform on-site calibration, installation, startup, and troubleshooting of industrial flow, level, and temperature instruments at customer sites. The role requires strong problem-solving abilities and the skill to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to customers.

The candidate will respond to technical support inquiries, travel for troubleshooting, and ensure accurate documentation of site visits.

Qualifications

Associate of Science or vocational training in electrical, mechanical or instrumentation with relevant work experience.
1-3 years progressive related work experience; 3+ years working with fluid dynamics, measuring instrumentation, or process controls is a plus.
Proficient with HART, Profibus, Modbus or other digital bus communications.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain technical information to non-technical users.
Ability to troubleshoot complex issues on various electronic components.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, maintain, test, and calibrate industrial flow, level, and temperature instrumentation at customer sites.
Installation start-up and commissioning at customer locations.
Handle technical support calls and emails post-sale; travel to customer sites for troubleshooting.
Troubleshoot and maintain instruments interfacing with customer control systems (DCS, PLCs, MMI, SCADA) and field devices.
Program input operating parameters as per customer specs.
Document field service visits via Field Service Reports and expense reports.
Train personnel and partners on installation, operation, integration, configuration, service, and usage of products.
