Job summary

Applied Industrial Technologies is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform installation, calibration, and repair of instrumentation and control systems at customer sites in the Hickory, NC area. The role requires travel to diverse customer facilities and hands-on electrical/mechanical work.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in process/control equipment maintenance, PLC programming, and strong computer skills. A company vehicle and comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Associates/Technical Degree preferred.
• 2+ years installing, maintaining, and repairing Process/Control equipment including instrumentation, valves, actuators, pumps.
• Strong computer proficiency with electronic/microcomputer instruments used to measure/control variables.
• Strong mechanical proficiency with hand and power tools; electrical/electrician experience.
• PLC programming and troubleshooting; drives programming experience

Responsibilities

• Perform field maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, and repair of instrumentation and control systems in a timely, accurate, and safe manner.
• Calibrate pressure, temperature, flow and other instrumentation; Commission instrumentation and shoot loops.
• Install and calibrate measuring and positioning devices; perform minor electrical maintenance.
• Complete documentation for actions taken; report activity and maintain logs of service calls and parts.
• Represent company during Field Service tasks with a proactive attitude; identify safety issues.
• Identify upgrade opportunities at customer facilities and communicate them to the team.
