Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; coursework in surveying is a plus.
• Experience as a Survey Instrument Operator or related role is advantageous.
• Familiarity with surveying instruments and data collection tools.
• Basic understanding of surveying principles and procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Must communicate in English to follow safety protocols and instructions.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Crew Chief and crew in setting up and operating surveying instruments, including total stations, GPS receivers, levels and data collectors.
• Operate surveying instruments to collect field data, including measurements, angles, distances and elevations.
• Maintain calibration and proper operation of equipment to ensure data accuracy.
• Follow safety protocols and comply with local, state and federal regulations.
• Transfer and organize field data into digital formats for processing and QC with the crew.
• Report equipment issues or malfunctions to the Crew Chief.
• Collaborate with survey crew to meet project objectives and schedules.
