Job summary

Kargo is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install and service our dock sensor hardware at customer facilities across the US. You will lead inspections, installations, and servicing visits, coordinating with contractors and internal teams to ensure smooth deployments.

Applicants should have 3+ years in servicing industrial equipment and be comfortable with high travel. Strong troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, and optical systems is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience servicing industrial equipment, vehicles, utilities, robots, or similar.
• Expertise in mechanical, electrical, and optical troubleshooting.
• High availability for short-notice domestic travel; may extend outside normal hours.
• Experience servicing equipment in warehouse or factory environments preferred.
• Strong communication and documentation skills; able to direct contractors and explain to customers.
• Experience using command line interfaces: PowerShell, Linux, etc.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer facilities and lead inspection, installation, and servicing visits.
• Install Kargo towers and other hardware products at customer facilities.
• Coordinate with contractors for electrical work, forklift modifications, and installation assistance.
• Coordinate tower and tool shipping from Kargo inventory to customer sites.
• Work with Manufacturing to provide configs and specs from site visits.
• Collaborate with Product and Hardware teams to improve installation processes and features.
• Interact with customers on-site; this is not a sales role but may involve coordinating with customers on timing and preferences.
• Maintain high travel readiness with near 90% travel.
