Job summary

Siemens Healthineers in Indiana seeks a field service engineer to install and service Varian linear accelerators and imaging systems on-site, support operation, maintenance, and training, and coordinate with customers to ensure safe, compliant operation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 2–4 years related experience; an associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
• Knowledge of electronic and electro-mechanical engineering, RF energy devices and electronic cooling systems.
• Proficient in the use of test equipment for verification and calibration.
• Close to airport.
• Basic networking skills to integrate the machine onto the customer server.
• Knowledge of PC-based systems.
• Customer-focused attitude.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Provide highly visible customer support through on-site installation of linear accelerators and imaging systems, as well as overseeing diagnoses, troubleshooting, service, and repair.
• Check out and approve operational quality of system equipment.
• Instruct customers in operation and maintenance of the system.
• Serve as company liaison with customer on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects.
• Support a wide range of company products to ensure customers' equipment operates properly.
• Demonstrate equipment operation and specifications according to CAP.
• Advise customers on spare parts or service requests to ensure operation per guidelines.
• Input detailed records of installation and upgrade work into company systems.
• Maintain professionalism and safety per VMS guidelines and regulations.
• Perform parts inventory and ordering for installation.
• Maintain technical documentation regarding operating characteristics and performance.
• Report via FSRs, timesheets, expense reports, etc., to ensure data accuracy.
• Complete installation documentation and update data for tracking purposes.
• Use problem-resolution escalation procedures and request technical assistance timely.
