Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson is seeking a Transportation Construction Inspector to oversee roadway and site improvement projects in the Philadelphia region, primarily stormwater, water and sewer facilities. As the client’s representative, you will verify contract adherence, attend meetings, document progress and monitor quality and safety.

Candidates typically bring 3–5+ years of heavy/highway construction experience, a high school diploma, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of heavy/highway construction experience suggested.
• High school diploma or GED required; additional technical certifications preferred.
• Professional Engineer’s License or NICET certification (any level) preferred.
• NECEPT Bituminous Technician, PennDOT Concrete Field Technician, ACI Field Technician I certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently plan, coordinate, inspect and oversee day-to-day project inspection activities.
• Review and maintain project documentation (inspection reports, work orders, estimates) for progress and compliance.
• Attend pre-bid and pre-construction meetings and provide updates on construction progress and issues.
• Interact with public agencies, contractors and other parties to respond to inquiries and resolve field issues.
