Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Special Inspector to perform field observations, inspections, and testing of construction materials with emphasis on structural elements in the Raleigh area.

You will travel locally to project sites and collaborate with engineers and technicians while preparing detailed daily reports on methods, results, and observations. This role requires leadership, reliability, and hands‑on expertise in testing and inspection.

Qualifications

• Three years of progressive testing/inspection in construction materials and structural elements.

Responsibilities

• Perform field observations and inspections of construction materials focused on structural elements.
• Conduct testing of soils, asphalt, concrete, masonry, steel, and fireproofing materials.
