Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an on-site Field Inspector to support our Transportation Construction, Engineering and Inspection group. This role involves inspecting traffic control, environmental controls, and construction methods at project sites across the United States, including Pittsburgh, Lisle, Fairmont, Charleston, Knoxville, Nashville, Chattanooga, Raleigh, Columbia, Tifton, Orlando, and Sarasota.

You will work under supervision, review daily reports and QC procedures, and may perform sampling

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license required.
• 0 years of experience; equivalent directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required; frequency varies with duties.

Responsibilities

• Inspect traffic control, environmental controls, layout, construction methods and materials under supervision.
• Review contractor daily reports and QC procedures; verify conformance with Quality Control Plan.
• Review material testing procedures and results; measure quantities of materials placed.
• May perform sampling and in-place testing of soil, aggregate base, concrete, and asphalt pavement.
