Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an on-site Inspector to support transportation construction projects in multiple U.S. locations. You will perform inspections of traffic control, environmental controls, layout, and materials, under direct supervision, contributing to project success.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, valid driver's license, and willingness to travel 20–40%. Strong communication and basic math skills, plus proficiency with MS Office, are required.

Qualifications

• Must communicate in English clearly, both verbally and in writing.
• Basic arithmetic skills are required.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is expected.
• Ability to quickly learn new computer or mobile applications.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of traffic control, environmental controls, layout, materials, and construction under direct supervision.
• Review daily contractor reports and QA procedures for conformance with project plans.
• Assess material testing procedures and quantify materials placed.
• May sample and test soil, aggregate base, concrete, and asphalt as needed.
