Job summary

Tectonic Engineering Consultants, Geologists & Land Surveyors, D.P.C. is seeking a full-time Construction Inspector to work on a Montgomery County, NY project. The role requires field inspections, plan interpretation, and strong communication with project teams.

Ideal candidates will hold NICET Level II or higher and a related engineering degree or equivalent, with a valid driver's license for daily site travel. On-site work in Florida, NY area will occur on a regular basis.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; engineering degree or higher preferred.
• NICET Level II or higher certification required or equivalent.
• Experience inspecting roadway construction, preferably NYSDOT-based, is strongly preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform field inspections for roadway improvement projects under NYSDOT permits.
• Monitor contractor activities and ensure work aligns with approved plans and specs.
• Prepare daily inspection reports and communicate progress and issues to PMs and clients.
• Review drawings and traffic control plans for compliance with designs.
• Verify maintenance and protection of traffic (MPT) and safety requirements.
