Job summary

Abode Energy Management LLC seeks a Field Inspector for Mass Save to conduct in-depth field inspections, post-install reviews, and photo documentation of energy efficiency projects in homes across Massachusetts. The role blends field visits with data collection to ensure high-quality service and program compliance.

Ideal candidates have hands-on residential building science experience, BA-P certification (or ability to obtain), and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• BA-P certification is required or able to be obtained through Abode.
• Hands-on knowledge of residential building science.
• Experience with Mass Save preferred; heat pump related roles ideal.
• Ability to communicate on-job concerns with crews and homeowners.
• Proficient with basic computer apps and mobile data collection.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Stay current with Mass Save rules; Abode provides training.
• Communicate with field and office staff; attend meetings.
• Travel to multiple homes (4+ per day) for inspections statewide.
• Provide real-time feedback to crews to ensure compliance.
• Address customer concerns about projects.
• Conduct diagnostic tests (combustion safety, blower door, infrared).
• Collect data into electronic forms for project tracking.
• Analyze measures for program eligibility and best practices.
• Create reports for contractors and Program Administrators.
