Job summary

Village of Palm Springs is seeking a Code Enforcement Supervisor to oversee field inspections and enforce village ordinances and Florida statutes. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and independent judgment in a civilian capacity.

The position involves supervising inspectors, coordinating daily field operations, and presenting cases before the Special Magistrate. Expect collaboration with Public Safety personnel and engagement at public hearings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Florida Driver's License required.
• Four years of progressively responsible field experience in municipal code enforcement preferred.
• Must complete Code Enforcement Officer Certification and pursue continuing education.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct work assignments of code enforcement personnel.
• Perform daily inspections of properties for code compliance.
• Investigate complaints related to landscaping, zoning, and related codes.
• Issue violation notices and prepare cases for magistrate.
• Represent the village at board meetings and public hearings.
• Assist public with building and zoning information.
