Village of Palm Springs is seeking a Code Enforcement Supervisor to oversee daily operations, conduct field inspections for compliance with Village Code and Florida statutes, and manage investigations and public records documentation.
The role requires strong communication and organizational skills, independent judgment, and the ability to supervise staff in a civilian position.
Performs supervisory and technical fieldwork to ensure compliance with Village Code of Ordinances, and State minimum housing standards. Supervises the day-to-day operations of assigned Code Enforcement Officers and conducts field inspections and investigates related complaints. Requires strong communication and organizational skills and the ability to exercise a considerable degree of independent judgment. This is a civilian position, which involves a working knowledge of Village Code of Ordinances and Florida State Statutes. The following duties are normal for this position.

High School diploma or GED is required. Must maintain a valid Florida Drivers’ License. Four (4) years progressively responsible field experience, preferably in municipal code enforcement. Must attend Code Enforcement Officer Certification classes and receive Certification. Willingness to attend continuing education courses is required.
The ability to develop proficiency in the use of the various research materials available to the unit is required. Must be able to input, access and retrieve information from a computer. Knowledge of the functions, procedures and policies of the Public Safety Department is required. Must have the ability to speak clearly, distinctly and politely.
Acceptable eyesight and hearing with or without corrections is required. Must be capable of sitting, walking, standing and driving for extended periods of time. May require occasional reaching, bending, stooping and lifting up to 45 lbs. Reasonable accommodations will be made for otherwise qualified individuals with a disability.
