Job summary

STV Incorporated is seeking Inspection Technical Assistants for construction inspection work in Pennsylvania. The PA Transportation group operates from Douglassville, Harrisburg and Philadelphia offices, with field sites across Lehigh Valley, Northeastern PA, and Philadelphia regions.

Roles include travel to field offices, materials plants and labs to inspect highway/bridge projects for PennDOT and PA Turnpike projects.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED is required.
Willingness to pursue additional inspection and safety certifications as needed.
Review procedures, materials, and work for conformance with plans and specs.
Prepare written inspection reports and witness testing processes.
Learn PennDOT highway/bridge specs, drawings, standards, and methods.
Basic math to calculate measurements and quantities for payments.
Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to field sites and labs.
Willingness to work nights/weekends as needed by clients.

Responsibilities

Review contractor procedures, materials, and work for conformance with plans and specs.
Prepare written inspection reports on work in progress and completed work.
Witness and document materials testing and certification processes.
Learn PennDOT highway/bridge specifications and related documents.
Track status of operations and assist with contractor payments and change orders.
