Job summary

STV currently has openings for Technical Assistants for Construction Inspection in the Transportation group in Pennsylvania. Field locations include Lehigh Valley, Northeastern PA, and Philadelphia regions with immediate assignments in Carbon County.

Candidates need a high school diploma or GED, willingness to travel to field sites, and may pursue civil engineering or construction management coursework. Certifications such as NICET/ACI/NECEPT are a plus; strong math, computer skills, and the

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or GED) required; post-secondary coursework preferred.
• Willingness to pursue certifications (ACI, PennDOT, NECEPT, etc.).
• Review contractor procedures for conformance with plans and specs.
• Prepare inspection reports with quantities and witnessing tests.
• Learn PennDOT highway/bridge specs, drawings and documents.
• Must travel to field sites, work nights/weekends when required.
• Basic math for measurements and payment units; PC skills.

Responsibilities

• Review contractor procedures, materials, and work product for conformance with plans and specifications.
• Prepare written inspection reports on work in progress and completed work, including quantity calculations, and witness/materials testing.
• Learn and apply PennDOT highway/bridge construction specs, contract drawings, standards, and methods.
• Be able to travel to field construction sites and perform duties safely.
• Assist in documenting and reviewing construction activities and status for payments and change orders.
