Job summary

Metro Associates is seeking an experienced Construction Inspection Team Lead to support transportation and infrastructure projects in southern Indiana. You will oversee inspection teams, ensure adherence to agency specs, safety standards, and quality requirements.

The role requires strong field inspection experience on state and local projects, plus proven leadership coordinating inspection personnel and interfacing with agency representatives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
• 5+ years of infrastructure construction inspection experience, preferably on transportation projects.
• Experience supporting state or local transportation agency construction programs.
• Strong understanding of roadway and bridge inspection procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate inspection activities for transportation infrastructure projects.
• Provide field inspection and testing services for construction and rehabilitation projects.
• Interpret plans, specifications, docs, and as-built drawings.
• Prepare daily field inspection reports with photos.
• Perform earthwork quantity calculations (cut and fill).
• Verify contractor work and materials meet project specs.
• Conduct quality assurance checks on construction activities.
• Coordinate with project teams on contract modifications and field changes.
• Mentor junior inspection staff for professional development.
• Utilize digital construction management systems used by agencies.
