Job summary

American Structurepoint, Inc. in Indianapolis seeks a Bridge Inspection Team Leader to guide inspection teams, oversee NBIS-compliant assessments, and deliver structural evaluations for complex projects.

You will mentor staff, coordinate field activities, report findings with load ratings and repair recommendations, and collaborate with state DOTs and owners to prioritize maintenance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Active Bridge Inspection Team Leader certification meeting NBIS/state requirements.
• Minimum 6+ years of bridge inspection and structural evaluation experience.
• Strong NBIS knowledge.
• Proficiency with AASHTOWare BrR and structural modeling/analysis software.
• Experience with non-destructive testing methods.
• Strong technical report-writing skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead routine, fracture-critical, and special bridge inspections per NBIS.
• Supervise and mentor field technicians and junior inspectors.
• Plan, organize, and direct field inspection activities with safety focus.
• Perform structural evaluations and document bridge conditions and recommendations.
• Prepare inspection reports, load ratings, and repair recommendations using engineering software.
• Utilize AASHTOWare BrR and other analysis tools.
• Apply non-destructive testing during inspections.
• Ensure compliance with state DOT and FHWA standards.
• Communicate with agency representatives about conditions and priorities.
• Assist with internal engineering and office production when needed.
• Contribute to developing junior staff.
