Job summary

Rightfiber, Sunman, IN, seeks a Construction Technician to install and repair essential fiber infrastructure. You will operate trenchers, plows, backhoes, and skid loaders while following safety standards and meeting quality expectations.

You will locate utilities, mark coordinates, and document time and expenses daily, with opportunities to mentor junior crew members and respond to 24/7 emergencies as needed.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of construction, cable installation, or utility experience.
• Able to lift up to 130 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Valid driver's license with CDL, or ability to obtain one; comply with FMCSA.
• Basic knowledge of electrical wiring and equipment troubleshooting.
• Willingness to work non-standard hours and respond to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Install and replace communication and utility lines using maps and staking sheets.
• Operate heavy machinery such as trenchers, cable plows, backhoes, and skid loaders.
• Identify and mark underground utilities using One-Call color codes.
• Mentor junior crew members and maintain a safe, hazard-free work site.
• Complete time sheets, expense reports, and driving logs.
