Job summary

Rightfiber, formerly Great Plains Communications, seeks a Construction Technician in Sunman, IN to install, maintain, and repair essential fiber and utility infrastructure. You will operate heavy machinery, perform cable splicing, and uphold safety and quality standards.

You’ll work on infrastructure installation, equipment operation, utility locating, and lead junior crew members while adhering to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years construction/utility experience.
• Lift up to 130 lbs, climb ladders, hand-dig.
• Valid CDL or ability to obtain and FMCSA compliant.
• Basic electrical wiring knowledge and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Install and replace lines using maps and staking sheets.
• Drive heavy machinery: trenchers, plows, backhoes, skid loaders.
• Locate and mark underground utilities using manual/electronic methods.
• Mentor junior crew and enforce safety protocols.
• Complete time sheets, expense reports, and CDL logs.
