Job summary

ZI Engineering seeks an experienced ICC Commercial Electrical Inspector (E2) to support the renovation of an active water treatment facility on Staten Island, NY. The inspector will perform field inspections of electrical construction to verify compliance with drawings, codes, submittals, and project requirements.

Qualifications

• Current ICC Commercial Electrical Inspector – E2 Certification.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant electrical construction and/or inspection experience.
• Strong working knowledge of electrical codes and NEC/NFPA 70.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, shop drawings, and submittals.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in an active construction environment.
• Proficiency with standard computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily field inspections of electrical construction activities.
• Verify installations comply with drawings, specifications, codes, submittals, and requirements.
• Inspect conduits, wiring, panels, MCCs, transformers, grounding, and lighting systems.
• Document deficiencies and progress in daily inspection reports.
• Coordinate with project team and contractors to resolve issues.
• Witness electrical testing, startup, and commissioning.
• Ensure punch lists are completed and closeout documentation prepared.
