Job summary

You will serve as a Hydrologic Technician within the Wyoming-Montana Water Science Center located in Billings, MT. You may be required to travel overnight away from home up to 10 nights per month. You must obtain a government charge card for travel purposes.

Qualifications

• Experience performing routine measurements of stage and discharge in the field.
• Ability to review gage-height data and verify methods and calculations.
• Familiarity with hydrologic instrumentation and data management.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine measurements of stage and discharge under various field conditions.
• Review data and plots to verify accuracy of measurements and computations.
• Install, maintain, service, and troubleshoot sensing and communications equipment.
• Enter and analyze surface-water and water-quality data using databases and spreadsheets.
