Job summary

Lennox is seeking a Training Specialist to develop and deliver courses for installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems. You will travel up to 75% to customer sites with a company car and deliver training using diverse methods.

Advanced knowledge of HVAC products, strong presentation and writing skills, and the ability to apply learning theories in real classrooms are essential. A high school diploma is required, with HVAC or related degree preferred.

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent (education/experience).
• Two-year college degree, HVAC degree, or equivalent preferred.
• Typically requires at least 5 years of relevant training experience plus 5 years of technical experience.
• Knowledge of learning theories applied to classroom settings.

Job description

What Drives Success

• The region this person is responsible for includes the West Coast territory.
• Up to 75% travel to customer sites in the Territory with a company car provided.
• Under limited supervision, develops and delivers training courses for training customers or technical employees in the installation, maintenance and repair of HVAC products.
• Troubleshoots technical inquiries for Commercial HVAC.
• Identifies customer needs for Commercial HVAC.
• Investigates and resolves technical inquiries for RTU and other Commercial HVAC systems.
• Develops, test, and maintain courses and materials used in training.
• Establishes course content and student learning objectives.
• May prepare course syllabus, lesson plans, and student manuals, and coordinate the development of training aids.
• Reviews problem areas and identifies training needs.
• Develops criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of training activities.
• Updates course materials on a continuous basis to ensure timeliness and relevance.
• Conducts training using all methods of delivery.
• May provide direction to entry-level technical trainers.

What We Are Looking For

• Requires a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Prefer a two-year college degree, HVAC degree, or equivalent.
• Typically requires at least 5 years of relevant training experience in addition to at least 5 years of technical experience. Advanced knowledge of assigned products and the application of diagnostic techniques and service aids.
• Knowledge and ability to apply learning theories to classroom situations.
• Developed presentation skills using a variety of technologies.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
• Individual must have some sales ability along with a track record of fostering solid customer relationships.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Proficient in leading WebEx meetings.

What We Offer

Compensation: This is a salaried exempt role. The starting salary range for this role and market is between $80,800 to $106,050k annually. Factors that may affect starting salary include geography/market and the skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. Employees in this role are also eligible for an annual bonus in accordance with the terms of the Company’s applicable plan. Employees in this role are not eligible for overtime.
