Job summary

ANDRITZ Hydropower is seeking a hands-on HSE Site Officer to support major hydro construction projects across the United States. Mobilized to a site, you will lead on the floor and in the site office to ensure full compliance with the HSE Management System and government regulations.

You will work with Site Manager, Supervisors, QA Specialist and Administrator, conducting risk assessments, audits, and toolbox talks while maintaining safety logs and reporting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of safety supervision on hydro or USACE projects.
• Experience with government projects.
• Completion of the 30-hour OSHA course plus 40 hours later; 8 hours CE/year for 5 years.
• OSHA 510, 500 and CSP/CHST/ASP desired but not mandatory.
• Minimum 3 years HSE management on a construction site or heavy industries.
• University degree in Health and Safety or equivalent.
• Knowledge of provincial/state construction safety legislation.
• Experience on hydro power plant construction.

Responsibilities

• Ensures fulfillment of HSE requirements at construction site per plan and regulations.
• Supports Site Manager for HSE management and safety instruction implementation.
• Main liaison with customer HSE and regulatory agencies.
• Prepares weekly and monthly HSE reports.
• Implements Health & Safety Plan, risk assessments and EM 385-1-1 as applicable.
• Ensures subcontractor compliance of safety requirements.
• Maintains OSHA Form 300 and posts Form 300A on site safety board.
• Records and investigates accidents; conducts root cause analysis.
• Maintains corrective action tracking and HSE documentation.
