Job summary

HMSHost International seeks a Field HR Generalist to support HR policies and procedures across branches in the Pittsburgh area. The role bridges strategic and tactical HR, advising operations management and staff, and leading branch-level projects. This is an exempt position reporting to HR leadership.

The ideal candidate has a 4-year degree (or equivalent) and 3–5 years of HR recruiting or generalist experience, with SHRM certification preferred. National/region travel is required.

Qualifications

• Requires a 4 year college degree or equivalent work experience.
• 3–5 years of HR Recruiting or related HR Generalist experience.
• SHRM certification will provide a foundation for successful performance.
• Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions and policy documents.
• Proficient with HR software and Microsoft Office; travel required.

Responsibilities

• Establishes trusted adviser relationship with operations managers.
• Partner with HR Manager to maintain HR presence in branches.
• Advise on discipline, performance, retention, engagement, rewards, and recognition.
• Maintain HR policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct confidential HR counseling, investigations, and exit interviews.
• Gather and monitor HR metrics to forecast staffing needs.
• Collaborate with regional HR to source, screen, interview, offer, hire, and orient candidates.
• Develop and deliver new hire orientation and policy training.
• Understand airport/landlord policies and ensure compliance.
• Handle employee file maintenance and data entry in HR systems.
