Job summary

Cambridge Computer is seeking a field-based Data Center Technician to build end-to-end HPC/AI and enterprise solutions across client sites. You will install servers, storage, and networking gear, document configurations, and ensure adherence to proposed diagrams, while traveling to client locations up to half the time.

The role requires 3+ years in data centers, 5+ years installing hardware, and strong Linux familiarity, with a focus on reliability and clear client communication.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a data center environment.
• 5+ years installing network and server hardware.
• 5+ years with structured cabling in data centers.
• Strong knowledge of Layer2/3 networking and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Determine client needs and implement multi-vendor hardware/software.
• Demonstrate expertise in storage, networking, data protection, and related infra.
• Develop and verify rack elevations and cable layouts per config diagrams.
• Install servers, storage, and network gear onsite at client locations.
• Cable and label network cabling within the data center environment.
• Perform basic OS and ILO configuration tasks on servers and network devices.
• Scope out professional services deliverables and manage client expectations.
• Document installation processes from start to finish.
• Obtain vendor certifications relevant to Cambridge's solution stack.
