Job summary

Komatsu America Corp. in Rock Springs, Wyoming seeks a seasoned Heavy Equipment Technician to service and repair machinery across our service operations.

You will work on advanced equipment, adhering to safety protocols and delivering high-quality repairs with minimal supervision. The role requires a high school diploma or GED (diesel tech preferred), hands-on diesel maintenance experience, and a solid math and data-analysis skillset.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; diesel tech training preferred.
• Flexible to work various schedules and shifts.
• Proficient in basic math and business calculations; understands geometry.
• Reads, writes, and speaks clearly; strong customer service.
• Maintains safety protocols and follows procedures.
• Owns a complete set of mechanics tools meeting Komatsu requirements.
• CDL/field technician certifications may be required; MSHA/respirator certs may be needed.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned jobs to meet flat rate times and re-do metric.
• Work safely and follow all KEC/Customer safety policies and procedures.
• Complete related paperwork and access required databases (work order, parts order, JSA, DBS, SIMS, SIS web, STW) accurately and timely.
• Follow contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations.
• Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, and test and adjust assemblies with minimal supervision.
• Provide accurate quotes and pricing estimates to the customer.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot problems, recommend repairs, and perform machine/engine repairs with minimal supervision.
• Test and verify proper operation of repairs and adjustments.
• Apply general failure analysis to determine proper diagnosis.
