Job summary

JKL Associates Inc. in Dillon, MT, seeks a Heavy Equipment Operator to install fiber-optic, copper, and power cables, with possible sewer/water work. You will operate backhoe, mini excavator, cable plow, and track hoe, and assist with basic labor and site setup.

Field experience around utilities, ability to read prints/schematics, and willingness to train others are essential. CDL preferred; 100% field work with potential travel; competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Field experience with digging around utilities in rural and urban areas
• Experience operating utility construction equipment (backhoe, mini excavator, cable plow, track hoe)
• Ability to read prints and schematics and train co-workers

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently (backhoe, mini excavator, cable plow, track hoe)
• Perform daily maintenance on construction equipment used
• Assist with labor tasks (potholing, conduit/duct/cable placement) and setup
• Drive towing vehicle to job sites and transport equipment as needed
• Provide training and mentorship to less experienced operators
• Work in a fast-paced outdoor construction environment
