Job summary

Gateway Services Inc. is seeking a Health & Safety Specialist to support our Central region with a strong field presence.

You will work directly with Operations to assess risks, conduct inspections, and drive practical safety improvements across Care Centers in the Central United States and Canada. This role involves partnering with leaders, investigating incidents, supporting return-to-work, and translating safety requirements into actionable actions.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, Environmental Engineering or related field.
• At least four years of relevant safety experience, ideally in manufacturing, distribution or another multi-site operational environment.
• Experience with workplace inspections, incident investigations and job-hazard analysis.
• Working knowledge of applicable H&S requirements and accurate recordkeeping.

Responsibilities

• Partner directly with Operations. Build trusted relationships with management and frontline teams to address safety priorities.
• Identify and prevent risk through inspections, audits and hazard assessments; implement practical controls.
• Investigate incidents and vehicle accidents; support investigations and implement preventive actions.
• Support safe return to work; assist with return-to-work plans and barrier removal.
• Bring safety programs to life by implementing policies, tools and learning campaigns.
