Job summary

Gateway Services Inc. is seeking a Health & Safety Specialist to support operations across the Central region, including the US and Canada.

This field-facing role involves partnering with operations leaders to identify hazards, conduct inspections, and drive practical safety actions. You will investigate incidents, support return-to-work processes, and bring safety programs to life on multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field is required.
• At least four years of safety experience in manufacturing, distribution or multi-site operations.
• Experience with workplace inspections and incident investigations.
• Ability to assess hazards and recommend practical controls.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% across a regional footprint.

Responsibilities

• Partner directly with Operations to address safety challenges and provide practical advice.
• Identify and prevent risks through inspections and risk assessments.
• Investigate incidents and vehicle accidents, gathering facts and recommending actions.
• Support safe return to work following injuries and incidents.
• Implement safety programs and promote learning campaigns across sites.
• Use data trends to identify recurring risks and drive improvements.
