Job summary

Foothill Packing Inc. is seeking workers for heavy field harvesting of lettuce, cabbage, kale, parsley, cilantro, and related crops in Yuma, AZ. You will cut, bag, and load fresh produce in the field, then assist packers in preparing cartons or totes for shipment.

Applicants must have at least 1 month of experience with produce, be able to lift up to 50 lbs, and use harvesting knives. Color discrimination is required; work in muddy, wet, and dirty conditions is expected.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 1 month of experience with the listed produce, including harvest work.
• Lifting up to 50 pounds frequently and ability to use hand tools including harvesting knives.
• Cannot be color blind due to the need to distinguish colors of crops.
• Must be able to work under conditions where skin and clothing become heavily soiled with mud, water, grease, etc.

Responsibilities

• Harvest lettuce, romaine, and related crops in the field.
• Cut, bag, pack, and load fresh produce into cartons or totes.
• Walk behind harvesting platform machines or belts to cut produce and assess size/quality.
• Pack cartons/totes or place on belts; prepare for shipment and stack on pallets.
• Move empty pallets and assist loaders; ensure cartons/totes are properly labeled.
