Crops: Green/Red Romaine, Green/Red Oak, Green/Red Leaf, Mizuna, Arugula, Green/Red Chard, Tatsoi, Spinach, Kale, Culinary Herbs, Microgreens, Strawberries, Celery, Cabbage.

The job requires a minimum of 2 months of verifiable commercial agricultural employment experience, preferably on a vegetable farm, handling both manual and machine tasks associated with commodity production and harvest activities. Workers must be able to perform manual as well as mechanized activities with accuracy and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Plant, cultivate, and harvest vegetables such as Green/Red Romaine, Green/Red Oak, Green/Red Leaf, Mizuna, Arugula, Green/Red Chard, Tatsoi, Spinach, Kale, and other lettuce crops, culinary herbs, microgreens.
• Use hand tools (shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, knives) and power equipment (tractors, planters, sprayers, cultivators) for tilling soil, applying fertilizers, transplanting, weeding, thinning, pruning, applying pesticides, cleaning, grading, sorting, packing, loading harvested products.
• Assist with farm building and field maintenance, repair fences, and repair or cover hoop houses; remove broken or damaged poles and install new poles.
• Perform irrigation activities such as placing irrigation pipes and fittings, installing and maintaining irrigation systems and water lines; move and install irrigation pipes, drip tubing, and maintain ditches.
• Perform variable tasks such as ditching, shoveling, hoeing, hauling, ground preparation, and other general farm tasks.
• Maintain the equipment, restrooms, and fields in sanitary condition by sanitizing equipment, restrooms, lunch tables, packing material, boxes, labels, trash, and other waste items.
• Operate agricultural equipment with or without direction, comprehend and follow instructions, and communicate effectively with supervisors; supervise unusual or non-routine activities.
• Obey all safety rules and basic instructions, recognize and comply with Safety, Pesticide Warning / Re-entry And Other Essential Postings.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 months experience operating farm equipment.
• Experience working in herbs and leafy greens.
• At least 18 years old and physically able to meet all job specifications.
• Ability to work in hot, humid weather for extended periods.
• Must be able to perform all tasks mechanically and manually with accuracy and efficiency.
• Subject to random drug testing post hire; failing or refusing a drug test results in immediate termination.
