Job summary

Synopsys, Inc. is seeking a Field Engineer to deploy and support emulation and prototyping hardware at customer sites and internal labs. You will troubleshoot complex hardware, firmware, and network integrations, partnering with Engineering and Manufacturing to surface issues and implement fixes.

You will travel up to 70% domestically and internationally to installations, upgrades, relocations, and escalations, often on short notice, ensuring readiness for production use and customer handoff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Experience with hardware installation, integration, or validation (lab, manufacturing, or field environment).
• Ability to troubleshoot across hardware, firmware, and system-level integration issues using diagnostic tools.
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 70% of the time.
• Experience with emulation, prototyping, or FPGA-based verification platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and validate emulation hardware at customer sites and internal labs.
• Troubleshoot hardware, firmware, networking, and integration issues across boards, chassis, power distribution, and peripherals.
• Partner with Hardware Engineering, Manufacturing, and R&D teams to surface product issues and improve reliability.
• Develop and execute validation procedures confirming hardware quality and readiness for production use.
• Document installation outcomes, failure modes, corrective actions, and deployment metrics.
• Support manufacturing reviews and feeding field data back into product development.
• Travel domestically and internationally ~70% of the time for installations and escalations.
