Job summary

Synopsys, Inc. is seeking a senior Applications Engineer to join the HAV team, supporting customers deploying HAPS and ProtoCompiler on real SoC designs. You will work with FPGA-based prototyping, debugging RTL, timing, and hardware bring-up across PCIe, DDR, Ethernet, and AXI interfaces.

You will collaborate with R&D, Sales and Customer Success, reproduce issues, develop robust bring-up methodologies, and help customers meet schedules while improving ProtoCompiler features and usability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
• 5–8 years in FPGA implementation, ASIC design/verification, or FPGA prototyping.
• Solid experience with FPGA synthesis, place-and-route, and timing closure.
• Working knowledge of SystemVerilog, RTL design, and verification concepts.
• Hands-on with interface IP such as PCIe, DDR, Ethernet, USB, or AXI.
• Scripting ability in Tcl, Python, or shell for automation and flow customization.
• Experience with Synopsys HAPS, ProtoCompiler or similar FPGA-based prototyping tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support customer deployments of HAPS and ProtoCompiler across the ASIC-to-FPGA flow.
• Debug customer designs involving DDR, PCIe, Ethernet, AXI and other interfaces.
• Reproduce and analyze issues with R&D to provide solutions or workarounds.
• Develop methodologies for partitioning, clock architecture, and bring-up procedures.
• Collaborate with Sales and Customer Success on evaluations and deployment planning.
• Use Verdi and protocol analyzers to troubleshoot RTL, timing, and hardware issues.
