The Missouri Department of Agriculture is seeking grain inspectors based in Marshall, MO, with a central Missouri focus and preferred proximity to Saline, Lafayette, Carroll, Chariton, Howard, Cooper and Pettis counties. Inspectors work largely in the field at grain elevators, with some indoor tasks and occasional travel across Missouri.

Starting base salary is $42,000 with incentives for nights/weekends and shuttle trains.

Formación

• At least 18 years old.
• Possess a valid Driver’s license.
• Possess a high school diploma or GED/equivalent.
• Work experience may be substituted for education deficiencies.
• Adapt to variable work schedules including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Reliable communication and transportation are essential.

Responsabilidades

• Receive on‑the‑job training (no experience required).
• Inspect condition of carriers (railcars, barges, containers).
• Obtain samples of grain throughout the loading process.
• Process samples for moisture, test weight, dockage, foreign material, insects, mycotoxins; inspect grain for damage and other factors.
• Maintain vehicles, sampling and lab equipment, and work environments.
• Maintain professional relationships with employees, customers and the public.
• Obtain USDA/FGIS licenses within established timeframes.
• Perform other related work as assigned.
