Job summary

State-of-Missour is seeking a Feed and Seed Inspector in the Northwest Missouri region. The role involves extensive travel across 14 counties to inspect feed and seed facilities for compliance with Missouri laws as well as USDA and FDA statutes.

The candidate will prepare inspection reports and enforce regulations as needed. Qualified applicants have 5+ years in agriculture or related fields and must hold a Missouri driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Five or more years in agriculture, animal science, plant science, agronomy or related field.
• Experience can be from work history or a bachelor's emphasis in one area.

Responsibilities

• Travel 75%–80% within Missouri to inspect feed/seed establishments for compliance.
• Plan weekly inspections and collect samples for lab analysis.
• Provide guidance on state/federal laws and labeling requirements.
• Inspect products for proper labeling and compliance.
• Address non-compliance and issue withdrawal/stop-sale orders as needed.
• Investigate complaints and write comprehensive reports.
• Use a computer to write reports and required documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
