Job summary

SNA International seeks a bright, collaborative GIS Analyst to join our team in Hawaii. This 6-month, on-site role supports casework by conducting geospatial research, field surveys, and data management to advance investigations of missing military personnel.

You will apply ESRI ArcGIS and related tools, work independently and with colleagues, and coordinate with foreign representatives and casualty offices as needed. Strong written and verbal communication is essential.

Qualifications

• B.A./B.S. degree in anthropology, archaeology, geography, geology, or related field and GIS Certificate or equivalent education/experience.
• 1 year of GIS-based field data collection preferred in archaeology, anthropology, geography, geology, natural sciences, military operations, or surveying.
• GISP preferred (GIS Certification Institute).
• High proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS and related GIS software.
• Broad knowledge of GIS concepts, principles, and practices and their application.

Responsibilities

• Conducts research and field survey using geospatial methods to advance casework and identify sites associated with missing military personnel.
• Assists with communications with foreign representatives/embassies and casualty/mortuary offices.
• Conducts research on diverse cases with scattered and scant source material.
• Perform complex geospatial research and analysis into the status of missing American service personnel from past wars.
• Create maps, conduct imagery analysis, geo-rectify images, manage GIS data, and provide remote sensing expertise.
• Support field operations and debrief field personnel to add to the knowledge base.
