Job summary

NV5, Inc. is seeking a Staff Geologist/Engineer in Oregon to perform geotechnical field exploration, sampling, and reporting. The role emphasizes field work with some data analysis and report writing, contributing to multiple projects across field, office, and remote settings.

The ideal candidate will have a BS in Geology or Engineering (MS preferred), 0–3 years of experience, and a valid driver’s license. The position offers a flexible hybrid schedule and a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

• BS in Geology or Engineering required; MS in Geotechnical Engineering a plus.
• 0-3 years of experience in geotechnical fieldwork or related.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct geotechnical field exploration and sampling.
• Write daily field reports and maintain exploration logs.
• Perform laboratory testing and data analysis.
• Prepare engineering reports and project deliverables with the team.
• Observe construction to ensure adherence to design documents.
• Role is 80-90% field exploration and 10-20% writing and review.
