Job summary

WSB is seeking a hands-on Field Technician to support geotechnical drilling operations across project sites. You will assist drillers, prepare equipment, manage soils, and maintain logs while ensuring safety standards.

This role is primarily outdoors, requires travel, and may include overtime when projects demand. Ideal candidates bring a high school diploma and a valid driver’s license, with on-the-job training available for drilling tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• On-the-job training provided for drilling/heavy equipment.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record required.
• CDL Class A or B preferred but not required.
• DOT Medical Card within 30 days of employment.
• OSHA Hazmat/CPR/First Aid certifications preferred (training available).
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
• Field-based role outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Must work onsite at a WSB office as needed.
• Role entails 45–55 hours per week with possible overtime.

Responsibilities

• Assist driller in geotechnical drilling operations and sampling.
• Prepare and mobilize equipment for daily projects.
• Maintain field logs and handle soil samples.
• Perform routine maintenance on drill rigs and vehicles.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and company standards.
• Support site setup, travel and overnight stays as needed.
• Complete timesheets, expenses, and project documentation.
• Travel to project sites; overtime may be required.
