Job summary

The State of New Hampshire, Department of Transportation, Bureau of Materials & Research, has a full-time vacancy for a Geological Exploration Supervisor. You will oversee statewide subsurface exploration, directing field crews, coordinating equipment and safety standards to support highway, bridge, and building projects.

The ideal candidate has a combination of education and field experience in geology or geotechnical exploration, plus at least one year of supervisory leadership and a valid

Qualifications

• Education/experience must include leadership of work crews.
• Background in geology, engineering geology, geological/geotechnical exploration or related field.
• CDL-A with no airbrake restrictions required.

Responsibilities

• Reviews project plans and job sites for accessibility and equipment needs.
• Directly supervises and/or operates exploration equipment in difficult locations.
• Plans and conducts asphalt coring and base course sampling operations.
• Provides technical guidance to ensure subsurface explorations follow procedures.
• Supervises training and conducts employee performance evaluations.
• Maintains exploration equipment and coordinates major repairs.
• Manages material and equipment inventories for drill crews.
