Job summary

The State of New Hampshire, Department of Transportation, Bureau of Materials & Research, is seeking a Geological Exploration Technician III in Concord, NH. This full-time role conducts advanced technical and supervisory work mobilizing and operating drilling equipment to obtain subsurface data for NH DOT projects.

Qualifications include a two-year education/experience combination after high school, and a valid CDL-A with air brakes.

Qualifications

• Equivalent combination of 2 years of education and experience after completion of high school.
• Experience in operation of light or heavy motor-driven equipment or machinery and earth-drilling equipment.
• Valid Class A CDL (CDL-A) with air brakes.

Responsibilities

• Operate geological exploration equipment to obtain subsurface data for design/construction.
• Directly supervise a one or two person crew.
• Train new personnel in safe drilling procedures and monitor operations.
• Maintain field logs, reports and equipment maintenance records.
• Set up and enforce work zone traffic controls for explorations near roadways.
