Qualifications

• Associates degree in geology or related field with 5 years of related experience, or 1 year at Geologist 3.
• Knowledge of soils, foundations and earth sciences.
• Experience reading/specs, plans and construction/ testing manuals.
• Experience composing engineering/geology reports and correspondence.
• 3 years supervisory experience in geological environment.
• Knowledge of computer applications for engineering-analysis programs.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations and apply analytical methods.
• Commitment to quality customer service.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and plan work of assigned staff.
• Advise on road construction, foundation design and land use.
• Operate and maintain field/lab testing equipment; prepare samples.
• Review environmental reports for compliance.
• Inspect projects to analyze problems and apply geological knowledge.
• Prepare related reports and documentation.
• Evaluate site investigations and remediation designs.
