Job summary

UES, Inc. in West Palm Beach, FL seeks a Staff Geologist to support geological research and field activities, including collection, analysis and reporting of geological data under the guidance of senior staff.

You will assist with field investigations, laboratory testing, and environmental studies, travel up to 40% of the time, and collaborate on maps, figures, and regulatory reports while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or related field.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience (internships or academic fieldwork preferred).
• Fundamentals of Geology (FG) certification; PG if applicable by state.
• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification and 8-hour refresher.

Responsibilities

• Assist in field investigations, sample collection, and data recording.
• Conduct basic laboratory tests on rocks, minerals, fossils, and related materials.
• Support the preparation of maps, figures, and technical reports.
• Follow established research methods and data collection procedures.
• Ensure work complies with safety, ethical, and environmental regulations.
• Stay informed on fundamental geological concepts and practices.
• Provide field and office support to senior geologists on active projects
• Other duties as assigned.
