Job summary

Holt of California in West Sacramento, CA, is seeking an Electric Power Generation technician to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair Caterpillar gas and diesel engines and related power generation equipment.

You will perform field service, engage with customers, and ensure safety and quality while coordinating repairs, maintenance, and generator installations. A strong background with Caterpillar engines and electronics is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum five years related experience.
• Experience with Caterpillar engines preferred.
• Ability to operate a laptop with Windows-based software.
• Knowledge of gas/diesel engines and generator systems.

Responsibilities

• Performs field service, repairs and installation of customers' equipment.
• Operate Company service vehicle and applicable equipment including lift trucks.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose customer complaints using test equipment and electrical measurement tools.
• Repairs and maintains electric generators, switchgear, and diesel/gas engines including LPG and dual fuel systems.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections per manufacturer specifications.
• Overhaul engines or components as required.
• Deliver and hook up rental generators following all codes and safety guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned.
