Job summary

MacAllister Machinery Co., Inc. is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to perform mechanical and electrical service on engines, generators, UPS, switchgear, and related equipment in our Power Systems Service Department in Michigan.

You will install, commission, diagnose, repair, and document service work, coordinate start-ups, and maintain company vehicles and tools; a CDL is required, and overtime/weekends may apply.

Qualifications

• This role requires a high school education or equivalent with technical training preferred.
• 3-5 years of mechanical experience with generators and engines, preferably Caterpillar.
• CDL Class C or higher is required to operate field service vehicle.
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.
• Strong problem solving, diagnostics and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Installs, services and repairs generators, UPS, switchgear, ATS, and related products.
• Diagnoses electrical and mechanical problems to keep systems safe and efficient.
• Completes service reports, logs hours, and records parts and serial numbers.
• Maintains customer satisfaction by communicating clearly and meeting time constraints.
• Maintains company vehicle, equipment and tools, and complies with safety regulations.
