Job summary

Hunton Services, a division of Hunton Group in Houston, TX, is seeking a Generator Service Technician to inspect, maintain, diagnose, and repair commercial and industrial power generation systems. Field work includes diesel and natural gas generators, ATS, fuel systems, and temporary power equipment, with emphasis on safety, quality, and customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training preferred.
• 3+ years of experience servicing commercial or industrial generators preferred.
• Strong knowledge of diesel and natural gas engine systems.
• Experience troubleshooting generator controls, electrical systems, and ATS.
• Able to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and manuals.
• Familiar with diagnostic software and computerized control systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on diesel and natural gas generators and ATS.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot generator failures, voltage irregularities, ATS faults, and fuel system issues.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Perform load bank testing and generator performance evaluations.
• Respond to emergency service calls and participate in on‑call rotations.
• Prepare service reports, inspection reports, and testing documentation.
