Job summary

Chattanooga Gas, a Southern Company Gas subsidiary, seeks an Intermediate Field Technician to install, activate and maintain gas meters and regulators, respond to service orders, and repair leaks. You will work on a crew installing gas mains, operate heavy equipment, and perform inspections to ensure safety and compliance.

This role includes on-call emergency response and advancing to Field Technician C after structured training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 6 months minimum General Tech experience or equivalent.
• Basic Meter activation qualifications.
• Advanced Crew qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Complete installation, activation, and deactivation of gas meters and regulators.
• Respond to routine and emergency gas service requests.
• Repair leaks on meter sets and participate in gas main/service work.
• Operate heavy equipment during excavations; perform soil/valve maintenance.
