Job summary

Kinder Morgan is seeking a Field Compression Engineer based in Malvern, AR, Texarkana, AR or West Monroe, LA. You will support mechanical needs across multiple sites, specify equipment, manage vendor relations, and travel as required to ensure reliability of natural gas compression systems.

The role requires a 4-year engineering degree, experience with high-pressure compression equipment, and a commitment to safety and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• 4-year Engineering degree from an accredited school.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise to support mechanical needs for various customers.
• Aid in the specification of natural gas compression equipment based on operating conditions to optimize performance and reliability.
• Establish vendor relationships as applies to equipment in the area.
• Deal with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy and professionalism.
• Organize work for timely completion and be available for overtime work if required.
• Use personal judgment and specialized knowledge to provide and safeguard confidential information.
• Communicate in a highly professional manner; speak clearly in person and by telephone, emails professional at all times.
• Travel up to 50% often overnight to contractor or Kinder Morgan sites for mechanical support and meetings.
• Work with Operations in development of annual budgets for compression and ancillary equipment needs.
• Maintain a high degree of attention to detail and manage multiple assignments with deadlines.
